Optimize your web pages so that they get high rankings for the right keywords

Google has made it apparent that site speed matter in search rankings, and today, with a bigger emphasis on the user experience than ever before, site speed will continue to be a critical ranking factor. A fully mobile-optimized website will be easy to read and play smoothly on even the smallest mobile device screens. Images should be able to be easily enlarged and the navigation should be smooth and easy to follow. Strive to incorporate a small handful of links to authoritative sources throughout your copy. This communicates to your readers (and to Google’s algorithms) that your content, while unique, gives credit where it’s due. The basic premise of the “less is more” mindset is simple. If you optimized your website for 100 different keywords, no more than 10 of them would ever drive significant traffic to your site (and of those, two or three would drive the lion’s share of the traffic). The other 90 keywords would give you little drips of traffic here and there but nothing more. Pay close attention to how your results develop over time, and don’t be afraid to make changes when you need to.

Think about how to incorporate keywords into your post

Although SEO marketing tactics take a long time to show impact and ranking against high-power competitors isn’t an easy task, SEO should be a critical part of any small business’ long-term growth marketing plan. Your online competitors may not be who you think! By taking a broad look at your sector from an online perspective will help uncover potential opportunities that you are missing out on. Bear in mind that your keyword or phrase should be the most frequently used term in the body text of any given webpage. This is called keyword density. However you shouldn’t overuse this signal – if you stuff the copy with keywords then your text won’t be readable and Google will likely penalise you for not writing for human readers. Backlinks give the impression that you're an authority in your given industry. The natural growth of a Website’s backlink profile is a strong indication of the true competitive quality of the site’s content. Most Websites never earn very many links. Search engines understand this and award those sites with appropriate traffic based on other signals used by their algorithms.

Make Mobile SEO A Priority

So let’s say you’ve nailed down the art of quality content that solves a problem. That’s still not enough to make it to page one. You’ve got to use social to prove your content is worth a spot in Google’s sacred land. The more engagement your content gets, the more your content is performing well, which means people are likely sharing it across social — keeping you relevant and on topic. Hello, front page! when writing for the internet, break up your paragraphs as often as possible. Lots of white space makes reading text on mobile phones a heck of a lot easier (more than half of most websites’ traffic comes from mobile), and clearly formatted articles are used as a Google ranking signal. When optimizing for search traffic today, marketers can’t think just about rankings. They need to be holistic in their approach to the visibility and appearance of listings. You can read an offsite SEO beginners guide here. Google continues to show regular listings in response to searches along with featured snippets because featured snippets aren't meant as a sole source of information. The size of your images can have a big impact on your overall site speed (which is an important search ranking factor).

SEO is a journey, not a destination

Gaz Hall, from SEO Hull, had the following to say: "SEOs constantly work to get new links connecting to their sites that are from sources of high authority." A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a network of authoritative websites used to build links to your money website(s) for the purpose of ranking higher in the Google search engine. Search engine optimisation isn't always enjoyable for small businesses. Aside from having to compete together with your closest rivals, you've got those business leaders hogging up page one search results. Local SEO is all about promoting your site at the exact moment potential customers are looking for your type of product, and in your area. It’s about appearing in the main search results or within the map listings when your audience uses a local search term, such as plumber in Manchester, or when a search engine can tell their location. Did you know that on average, 8 out of 10 people will read a headline, but only 2 out of 10 will check out your post? This is the first step when people decide to leave it or click it.

Should I be buying backlinks to help improve my rankings?

When selecting keywords, you should also keep the purpose of your website in mind. Opt for transactional keywords if the main intention is sales, or informational keywords if your website aims to provide readers with important information. By properly using HTML tags, on-page linking, and internal backlinking, you can streamline your site to best serve your customers. By creating relevant content that guides users through the marketing funnel, you can improve sales and generate more interest in your brand. The search engine optimization (SEO) world has undergone some big changes in the last few years—the biggest being coming in the form of Google’s heightened push towards strong user experiences. There have been many minor changes to the layout of Search Engine Results Pages. Local and more location-specific searches have become more commonplace — especially on mobile devices. Keywords should never be used to try to trick or mislead human beings or Google spiders.. This means using keywords that do not exactly describe the contents of your page, repeating a keyword over and over in a way that in not natural (known as “keyword stuffing”) or using any other black hat SEO tactics (like keywords in a white font on a white background) are all off limits.

Think about your cluster content

Your content can target any audience, but if it doesn’t sufficiently deliver the information that audience is seeking, you’re out of luck. Be informative. Above all else, ensure you have informative content. The most entertaining writing doesn’t make you an authority on much more than entertainment. Many of the top websites in various industries use keywords in their URLs, but others which don’t are still able to rank highly. Much as we now know that writing quality content is better than stuffing it with keywords, the same applies to creating quality URLs. In the end, it comes down to what makes sense for your brand and website. All pages on your website should be available with a maximum of four clicks from any other page of your site. A good method to achieve that goal is to limit the categories on your website to three levels. Keep your sentences short. Make sure that no more than 25% of your sentences contain more than 20 words. Also, keep your paragraphs short. Make sure each paragraph doesn’t exceed the recommended maximum of 150 words.
